Yesterday, Newcastle joined Manchester United in the semi finals of the EFL Cup, after beating Leicester 2-0. This game started with lots of chances for Newcastle, including a shot by Joelinton which just hit the post. Eventually, the breakthrough came. Joelinton slipped a ball to Burn who hammered it powerfully past Danny Ward. Another goal came in the 72nd minute. Almiron found Joelinton who accurately placed it into the bottom corner. This ended the game for Leicester.

Newcastle had 52% of the ball, beating Leicester’s 48%. Joelinton proclaimed the Man of the Match Award with a 7.78 rating. Newcastle will be joining Manchester United in the EFL Cup Semi-finals. Today there will be two more following matches in the EFL Cup, with Nottingham Forest facing Wolves along with Southampton vs Man City.
