Yesterday, Crystal Palace faced Everton at Selhurst Park. The tense game ended in a 0-0 draw. This game started with a chance when Olise swooped in a fantastic cross into Ayew who headed over. Another chance came for Crystal Palace when Olise skipped past 2 defenders and hit a nice shot that was collected up by the goalkeeper. The Eagles came out with a close chance when Mitchell hit a brilliant volley which went just over. It seemed like Crystal Palace was definitely in the moment. Everton had a shot on goal too. Alex Iwobi hit a sizzling volley that was smacked away by Guaita. Crystal Palace scored when Michael Eze chipped the ball over the keeper. However after a VAR check, the goal was disallowed. A huge let off for Everton. They nearly scored when Iwobi passed to Calvert-Lewin who turned and hit it wide. In the second half. Michael Eze curled a superb shot that was saved by Jordan Pickford. Drama took place at the end of the game when Holgate pulled out one of his dangerous slide-tackles. He was already on a yellow card and was given a red card. Everton were down to ten men. Eze had another chance but sadly it was collected up by the Everton goalkeeper.
Crystal Palace had 57% of possession, beating Everton’s 43% of possession. The Man of the Match Award went to Olise with a 7.11 rating.
