The game started with a chance for Manchester City when Rodri hit a beautiful header that was smacked away by the West Ham goalkeeper. Man City nearly made it 1-0 when Erling Haaland missed a sitter at the edge of the box. Suddenly, West Ham came alive. In the 36th minute Coufal swooped in a brilliant cross that was bundled in by the diving James Ward-Prowse. 1-0! Manchester City got another chance to score when Doku swivelled through the West Ham defence and passed to Haaland whose shot was blocked off the line.

In the second half, Manchester City came alive. Alvarez passed to Doku who curled it into the bottom corner. 1-1! Man City nearly took the lead when Alvarez hit a fierce free-kick that struck the post. West Ham ended up with a close chance to score too when Kurt Zouma hit a precise header that was saved by Ederson. In the 76th minute, Bernardo Sliva to turn the game around. 2-1! Then to end the match Bernardo Silva passed to Haaland who struck it past Areola. 3-1!
