It seemed like Aston Villa would soon find the lead. Watkins passed to Douglas Luiz who hit a brilliant shot past Areola. 1-0! Aston Villa doubled their lead when Konsa went down in the penalty box. The referee pointed to the spot. Douglas Luiz stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way. 2-0! West Ham got a goal back when Jarrod Bowen’s shot deflected of a defender and into the bottom corner. 2-1! That did not dampen Villa’s spirits. In the 74th minute, Mc Ginn played a beautiful pass to Watkins who turned and hit a thundering strike into the top corner. 3-1! Then to wrap it up, Tielemans passed to Bailey who skipped past 1 defender before smashing the ball into the top corner. 4-1!
