The game started for Newcastle when Isak played in Harvey Barnes whose shot was saved by Jordan Pickford. It ended up being the Magpies who took the lead. Harvey Barnes played a pass to Isak who turned before hitting a shot past Pickford and into the far corner 1-0! Newcastle nearly doubled their lead when Jacob Murphy’s shot went sizzling just over the bar. Everton had a chance to score too when Doucoure shot was saved by Dubravka. Newcastle nearly scored again when Jacob Murphy’s shot was saved by the legs of Pickford. Everton however nearly conceded when James Tarkowski ‘s flick hit the Everton post. Newcastle thought they had doubled their lead when Isak played a pass to Dan Burn who scored but it was not to be. It was considered to be offside and after a VAR check it was denied for Newcastle. It was end to end football. Next Everton had a really close chance when Garner’s curling shot smacked off the inside of the post. Newcastle then had a goal cleared off the line when Barnes played in Isak whose shot was cleared off the line by Coleman. Unfortunately for Newcastle, Everton equalised when Ashley Young went down in the penalty box. Eventually the referee awarded a penalty and Calvert-Lewin executed. 1-1! The game ended 1-1.

Newcastle ended the match with 58% of possession, beating Everton’s 42%. The Man of the Match award went to Bruno Guimaraes with a 7.54 rating.

MATCH OF THE WEEK: Aston villa 1-0 man city

Aston Villa beat Manchester City on Sunday to win their 4th consecutive win. In a tight match Matty Cash scored a spectacular volley from a corner and the Villains did brilliantly throughout to stop Erling Haaland and Man City.
