Aston Villa nearly equalised when Diaby passed to Douglas Luiz whose shot was tipped over by Ortega. Aston Villa had another close chance when Douglas Luiz’s cross was flicked on by Lenglet and saved by Ortega again. Phil Foden got a second in the 62nd minute when he hammered a brilliant shot into the bottom corner. 3-1! Foden got a hat-trick 7 minutes later, when he hit a superb shot into the top corner. 4-1! GAME OVER!
Manchester City ended with 67% of possession, beating Aston Villa’s 33%. The Man of the Match Award went to City’s hat-trick hero, Phil Foden with a 7.96 rating.
