The 22 year old signed on a five-year deal, saying “I’m really happy to be here,” “I waited a lot.” He also said ” I hope we are going to do something great this season.” Th e Italian international played 30 times for Bologna last season scoring 2 goals and registering 5 assists as they came 5th to make the Champions League.

He made his senior debut for Roma in 2020, before joining Genoa on loan. After that he joined Basel in 2022, but he only stayed in Switzerland for one season before Bologna signed him for 3.3 million. In his last season at Bologna, he won the Serie A Player of the Month in May before representing Italy at the Euros.

The Arsenal Manager commented that Calafiori was a “great signing,” and that he had a great character and personality and that He looks forward with working with him for the days to come.
