It all started of with a fantastic corner in by Tielemens and from poor defending at the front post Aston Villa’s debutant Onana put them ahead with a free header. Aston Villa came again with the superb talent Morgan Rogers, he drove through the pitch and took his shot which was save by Areola if he hadn’t scuffed it it would have had a chance of going in.

Aston Villa really dominating the first half as an fantastic ball came over to Leon Bailey, the Jamaican Talent, made a fantastic first touch around the keeper got a great angle but then surprisingly missed the target with the ball coming of the outside of the post. Rodgers controls the game again as he drives through again, gets it to Bailey who plays an attempted pass over to McGinn its blocked but it still gets to him. McGinn strikes it blocked then he has another go which was just wide.

Paqueta plays a long ball across to Soucek who controls it but was brought down by Matty Cash, which the referee said….. PENALTY! Right and the end of the half West Ham had a chance to equalize. Paqueta stepped up with his calm run up and calmly rolled past Martinez.

Second Half: Rogers again drives through the middle plays Bailey who get it back to Rogers who rolls it back for Tielemans who’s shot is blocked then it falls to Rogers who makes the shot but by then Areola had saved it.

Pau Torres played a great pass over to Maatsen then passed to Ramsey who coolly played it over to Duran who side footed it passed the keeper
