Hello and welcome to mylivefootballnews.com. Today I will be talking about the match between Manchester City and Manchester United in the Manchester derby. The score was 1-2. The game started with a goal for Manchester City when De Bruyne played a long cross into the box which was headed in by Josko Gvardiol to give the Sky Blues the lead. 1-0! There was a bit of controversy later in the ame when Hojlund went down and then got mad at Kyle Walker and there was a lot of pushing and shoving until it all calmed down. City had another chance when Gundogan passed to Phil Foden who shuffled past one player before hitting which deflected just wide of the post. CLOSE!

In the second half, Manchester United had a huge chance when Bruno Fernandes played a brilliant cross to Amad Diallo whose header was tipped around the post by Ederson. There was an appeal for a penalty when Martinez played a long ball in the box and Hojlund was fouled by Ruben Dias but it just was not enough for a penalty. The Red Devils had another great chance when Mazaouri played a pass to Hojlund who played a through ball to Bruno Fernandes whose chip went just wide of the post. It seemed that Man Utd were going to lose, but in the 88th minute Amad went down in the penalty area after a tackle from Matheus Nunes and the referee awarded a penalty. Bruno Fernandes stepped up……. and fired the shot past Ederson and into the righthand corner. 1-1! However, this match was going to get even more exciting when Martinez played a brilliant ball to Amad whose touch took him around the keeper before he placed past 2 City defenders and into the net. 1-2!

Man City ended the match with 51.8% of possession, beating Man Utd’s 48.2%. The Man of the Match Award went to Matheus Nunes with a 9.21 rating. Man Utd go to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Carabao Cup before hosting Bournemouth in the Premier League. Man City face Aston Villa on Saturday in the Premier League.
