Hello and welcome to mylivefootballnews.com. Today I will be talking about the match between Chelsea and Brentford. The score was 2-1. The game started with a chance for the Blues when Caicedo played a long ball to Jackson whose shot on the volley was smacked away by Mark Flekken. CLOSE! Chelsea took the lead when Noni Madueke played a brilliant ball to Marc Cucurella who headed the ball past Flekken and into the bottom corner. 1-0! The Blues nearly made it two when Palmer passed to Sancho who played a cross into the box straight to Jackson, who fired it high over the bar. Brentford had a close chance to equalise when Collins brought the ball back into the box straight to Norgaard whose shot was tipped over by Robert Sanchez. The Bees had another great chance when Mbeumo passed to Ajer, who slid it across to Fabio Carvalho, whose shot hit the crossbar before Schade’s bicycle kick went over the bar.

Chelsea made it 2-0 when Enzo Fernandez played a lovely ball to Nicolas Jackson who burst past Nathan Pinnock before firing a shot into the bottom corner. 2-0! The Bees refused to give up yet. Janelt played a brilliant ball to Mbeumo but Sanchez got their first to the ball. In fact, Brentford got a goal back when Schade played a great ball to Mbeumo who skipped past Tosin’s tackle before firing the ball past Sanchez and into the net. 2-1! That got the Bees’ hearts up but they were disappointed at the end to lose to the Blues 2-1. Unfortunately, the game was not done, not even after the final whistle when goal scorer, Cucurella was awarded a red card for frantic pushing and shoving, which caused controversy all other the pitch.

Chelsea ended the game with 61.7% of the ball, beating Brentford’s 38.3%. The Man of the Match Award went to Moises Caicedo with a 7.68 rating. Chelsea host Everton next Sunday in the Premier League and Brentford go to Newcastle in the Carabao Cup before facing Nottingham Forest in the lead up to Christmas.
