Hello and welcome to mylivefootballnews.com. Today I will be talking about the match between Liverpool and Everton. The score was 1-0. The game started with some controversy when James Tarkowski played a quite dangerous tackle on Alexis Mac Allister. After a swift VAR check, it was only a yellow card for the Everton captain. Everton actually thought they had taken the lead when Tarkowski played a brilliant ball across to Beto who skilled his way past Virgil Van Dijk before nutmegging the keeper. However, it didn’t seem to be the away team’s day after Beto was offside and the goal did not stand. The big striker had another great chance to score when Doucoure played a nice ball to him and he skipped past Van Dijk in a flash before his shot smashed the post. CLOSE! Just before half time, the Reds had the chance to take the lead when Gravenberch hit a swerving shot that was saved by Jordan Pickford and Salah couldn’t quite get the rebound.
In the second half, Liverpool took the lead in a flash when Luis Diaz passed to Jota, who sent one, and another before firing the ball past Pickford. 1-0! All the Liverpool fans in the stadium thought that was a penalty, when Nunez was sent crashing by Jordan Pickford. But the penalty did not stand and the match ended at 1-0.
Liverpool ended the match with 73.8% of possession, beating Everton’s 26.2%. The Man of the Match Award went to Luis Diaz with a 7.85 rating. Liverpool go to the Craven Cottage to play Fulham and Everton play host to their rivals’ title rivals.
