The game started with a chance for Newcastle when Sandro Tonali played a brilliant through ball to Anthony Elanga whose shot was saved by Bizot. CLOSE! The Magpies had another chance to score when Trippier played a brilliant cross, that was headed on by Bruno Guimaraes to Harvey Barnes, who played it back to Anthony Gordon, who hit a fizzing shot that was saved by Bizot.

In the second half, Aston Villa had a chance to score when McGinn placed a brilliant cross that was headed on by Kamara and saved by Nick Pope. The Villains had another chance to score when Amadou Onana passed to Youri Tielemans, who passed to Rogers, who dribbled before passing it to Ollie Watkins, who cut inside before hitting a powerful shot that was saved by Pope. There was controversy later in the second half, when Elanga dribbled into space beore playing a lovely through-ball to Anthony Gordon who was pulled back by Ezri Konsa. After a swift VAR check, the Referee awarded Konsa a red card. Newcastle had another chance to score when Gordon dribbled into the penalty area before passing to Harvey Barnes who fired his shot well over the bar. The Magpies attacked again and again they couldn’t score as Gordon’s shot was saved by Bizot.

The game ended with Newcastle having 60.1% possession, beating Villa’s 39.9%. The Man of the Match Award went to Bizot for his brilliant saves to hold Newcastle to a draw. Newcastle play Liverpool on the 25th of August while Villa go to Brentford next Saturday.

MATCH OF THE WEEK: Aston villa 1-0 man city

Aston Villa beat Manchester City on Sunday to win their 4th consecutive win. In a tight match Matty Cash scored a spectacular volley from a corner and the Villains did brilliantly throughout to stop Erling Haaland and Man City.
