Hello and welcome to mylivefootballnews.com. Today I will be talking about the match between Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur. The score was 0-2. The game started with a chance for Manchester City when James Trafford booted the ball out straight to Pedro Porro, who headed into Marmoush whose shot went just wide of the target. CLOSE! The Egyptian had another chance to score when he was played through on goal by Erling Haaland but his shot was saved by Vicario to deny what would’ve been a thrilling goal. Spurs took the lead in the 35th minute when Pape Sarr headed it on to Richarlison who dribbled into the box before playing it t Brennan Johnson who smashed the ball past Trafford and into the net. 0-1! The former Burnley goalkeeper made a horror mistake in added time at the end of the first half, when he passed the ball straight to Pape Sarr who played it to Richarlison who dribbled before laying it off for Palhinha who hammered it home. 0-2! Man City had a great chance to get a goal back just before half-time when Rayan Cherki played a brilliant cross that was headed over by Erling Haaland.
In the second half, Spurs had another great chance to score when Bentancur passed it to Brennan Johnson who cut inside before firing it high over the crossbar. City thought they had scored when Jeremy Doku skipped past Pedro Porro, beckoning him to slip before passing it to Phil Foden whose shot was blocked by Micky Van De Ven. Spurs managed to hold on for the rest off the match to end Man City’s unbeaten run at the Etihad and to increase their record against City at the Etihad as well.
The game ended with Man City having 61.4% of possession, beating Tottenham’s 38.6%. The Man of the Match Award went to Joao Palhinha with a 8.42 rating. Man City go to play Brighton at the Amex Stadium, and Spurs end the month at home against Bournemouth.
