Hello and welcome to mylivefootballnews.com. Today I will be talking about the match between Brentford and Liverpool. The game ended 3-2. The game started with a goal for Brentford in the 9th minute when Kayode placed a long throw-in into the box that was flicked on by Ajer and volleyed past the Liverpool keeper and into the net by Dango Ouatarra. 1-0! The Bees had another chance to score when Mikel Damsgaard hit a tantalising shot that was tipped over by Mamardashvili. CLOSE! The away team had a penalty claim when Cody Gakpo had seemed to be clipped by Ajer in the penalty box but the referee and VAR disagreed and play went on. Brentford doubled their lead just before half-time in the 45th minute when Damsgaard played a fantastic through-ball to Kevin Schade who slid it past the keeper. 2-0! The first half was however not over yet when Wirtz played it to Conor Bradley who slid it across the six-yard box and it was hammered in by Milos Kerkez. 2-1! GAME ON!

It got worse for the Reds in the second half when Dango Ouatarra was clipped in the penalty box by Van Dijk and the referee awarded a penalty. Igor Thiago stepped up……… and calmly slotted it past the keeper. 3-1! Liverpool got a goal back in the 89th minute when Szoboszlai played a lovely cross to Salah who hit it first time into the top corner on the net. 3-2! Unfortunately it would all be seen as waste because Liverpool didn’t get any chances after that and Brentford managed to hold on for a famous victory.

The match ended with Brentford having 33.7% of possession, with Liverpool having 66.3%. The Man of the Match Award went to Igor Thiago with a 8.18 rating. Liverpool play Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night while Brentford go to Grimsby on Tuesday night to face Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup.
