Hello and welcome to mylivefootballnews.com. Today I will be talking about the match between Arsenal and Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup. The game ended 1-1, 8-7 on penalties. The game started with a chance for Palace when Mateta played a fabulous through-ball pass to Mitchell, who dribbled at Saliba before hitting a shot high over the crossbar. The Gunners had a huge chance to take the lead when Eze played it on to Jesus, who flicked it back to Martinelli, who crossed it in high for Madueke, who took a touch before his shot was saved by the man in goal, Benitez. CLOSE! Arsenal had another chance to score again through Gabriel Martinelli when he twisted and turned past Canvot before whipping in a brilliant cross that was headed to the far corner by Jesus, but he was denied by a diving Benitez before Madueke’s rebound was saved again by Benitez. OUTSTANDING! Martinelli dribbled again and danced past Canvot before crossing the ball up to Madueke, but it was just too high for the England international, and Palace cleared. The Home team racked up another chance to score just a minute after from the corner when Madueke whipped into the penalty area, and it flicked out to Calafiori, who volleyed it high over the bar. Martinelli attacked and again pranced and danced his way past Canvot, who was having quite the trouble against the Brazilian international. Anyway he played it on to Lewis-Skelly, who crossed it across the six-yard box to Noni Madueke, who took a touch before hitting a powerful shot that was smacked away by Benitez, who was having quite the game for Crystal Palace. It seemed that soon Arsenal would find the breakthrough

In the second half, Palace racked up the pressure and nearly took the lead when Wharton dribbled forward and hit a low-driven shot that went just wide of the post. The Gunners were so close to taking the advantage when Lewis Skelly passed to Odegaard curled the ball into the box, right out to Gabriel Jesus, who headed it agonisingly wide of the post. Arsenal attacked again and again were denied by the heroics of Benitez when Saliba played it to Odegaard, who flicked it on to Leandro Trossard, who played it though to Merino, who laid it off to Jesus, whose tantalising strike was tipped over by Benitez. UNBELIEVABLE! It just seemed that Benitez couldn’t be stopped. In the 80th minute, Saka whipped it in from a corner, and it came out to Calafiori, who headed it back into the box. After a mad scramble, Timber flicked it across to Lacroix, who played it into his own net. 1-0! A goal is a goal, I guess. Palace didn’t give up, however, and came up with a corner-kick routine of their own. In stoppage time at the end of the second half, Wharton crossed it from a free-kick, and it came out to Lerma, who headed it back into the box to the unmarked Marc Guehi, who slid it past Kepa. 1-1! There was speculation at the end of the game when Saka seemed to be fouled in the penalty area by Adam Wharton but it was waved away by the Referee. Eventually, the game ended and we went to penalties
