Crystal Palace thought that they had been awarded a penalty when Edouard went down in the penalty box but because of a foul on Endo the penalty did not stand. Hughes swooped in a beautiful cross that went to Mateta who went down but their was no penalty appeal from any Crystal Palace player. Unfortunately for Liverpool the referee checked the penalty on VAR and the penalty stood. Mateta stepped up….. and smashed it home. 1-0! Things started to get bad for Palace when Jordan Ayew got sent off after fouling Harvey Elliott. In the 76th minute Jones passed to Salah whose shot deflected in to hand him his 200th Liverpool goal.1-1! It got worse for Crystal Palace when Harvey Elliott skipped past one player before unleashing a brilliant shot into the bottom corner. 2-1!
