Hello and welcome to mylivefootballnews.com. Today I will be talking about the match between Paris Saint-Germain and Aston Villa, the Champions League and Europa League winners. The score ended as 2-1 to the Champions League winners, starting their new season on a high just as they did against Spurs in 2025.

The game started with a chance for Aston Villa when Kamara drove into the PSG half before hitting a powerful sot that went just wide of the post. Later on in the match Paris Saint Germain began to stamp their authority over Atson Villa, nearly scoring when Kvaratskhelia twisted and turned in the penalty are before playing it to Doue who hit a powerful shot that was deflected and saved by Bizot. The Villains tried to clear but trhough brilliant press Joao Neves stole it back before passing it straight to Vitinha who played it to Doue who found Kvaratskhelia in the penalty box before turning past Cash and hammering a powerful shot into the top corner. 1-0! Aston Villa began to get back into the match with their 17 year old youngster Madjo, the young man having a huge chance to score when they played a fabulous one-two be fore McGinn whipped it into the box for Madjo to head just wide of the post. CLOSE! Villa attacked again and the young man nearly scored again when Buendia flicked it on to Madjo who shoved Pacho off the ball before firing a powerful shot against the post. Villa and the young man attacked again and finally got their reward when McGinn and Hemmings played a nice one-two before McGinn got it back and whipped a brilliant cross into the penalty area that was volleyed in brilliantly into the top corner by the youngest Super Cup scorer- Madjo! 1-1! What a brilliant way to end the half, Villa playing attheir very best. Half time: 1-1

The second half started and one thing hadn’t changed, Villa’s assertion and fight for winning. Madjo stole the ball again in the middle of the park before playing the ball out ot the McGinn on the right wing who cut inside and shot a curling strike that was saved by the gloves of Safonov. However, with all that work Villa did, they were sloppy with the next chance in the match in this inspired Super Cup final. Dembele played a fabulous ball to Desire Doue who came in and Goal for curling the ball around Bizot and into the corner. 2-1! The first decision for the goal however was that he Doue was offside. After a swift VAR check it was decided that Doue was onside from the foot of Matty Cash, giving PSG the advantage in this exciitng encounter. Even when PSG took the lead, Villa would not give up without a fight . They were very unlucky not to score when Alysson’s cross was saved by Safonov before it bounced out to Hemmings whose shot was blocked by Zaire Emery. It was goal saving challenge that may have just decided where the Super Cup could be landing to. Villa attacked again through their new substitutes and nearly scored again when Tammy Abraham and Alysson played a brilliant one-two before Alysson crossed it straight into the box but Tammy Abraham just couldn’t reach it and Paris cleared. There was one more chance in the locker for Aston Villa however, Maatsen flew down the left flank before whipping a superb cross into the box that was headed on by Buendia …… however it flew wide of the post. Agony for Aston Villa after a truly fought out game against the best team in Europe. Take nothing away from the winners tonight, PSG were outstanding and just had the finishing touch tonight. Your Super Cup winners 2026 same as 2025, was PSG.

The game ended with the winners having 60.8% of possession, beating Villa’s 39.2%. The Man of the Match Award went to two players today, the 17 year old, the youngest scorer Madjo and the winger that has PSG on his feet to him, Desire DOUE!

What next: as we enter a new season, we promise that the fun will not stop. Starting with the Community Shield on Sunday before moving on to the array of Premier League matches next weekend and beyond. Thank you and I hope you enjoy this year of mylivefootballnews.com like no other.
