The game started with a goal for Arsenal when Calafiori picked the ball off the ball off Van Ewijk before playing the ball in the middle of Kai Havertz who placed the ball comfortably into the bottom corner to give Arsenal the lead. 1-0! The Gunners doubled their lead when Rice and Odegaard played a brilliant one two before Rice spread it out to Tzolis who whipped it in across the box. His cross was saved by the keeper but the ball bounced to to Bukayo Saka who tapped it in for 2-0. Coventry nearly had a goal out of absolutely nothing when Tchaouna attempted an impossible bicycle kick which looped just over the bar. CLOSE!

e before cutting it back for Ben White who dribbled into the penalty area before passing it Martin Odegaard whose shot deflected into the net. 3-0! The Gunners nearly hit four when after Declan Rice corner that caused havoc in the penalty area it bounced out to Tzolis whose powerful volley was saved by the keeper and cleared. Coventry had a chance right at the end when Torp whipped in a fabulous cross that was headed on by Rudoni straight at the goalkeeper. The full-time whistle blew and the game had been decided. Arsenal, the Champions had started on a high. For Coventry it proved it be a tough journey to start their Premier League season.
Arsenal ended the match with 64.5% of possession, beating Coventry’s 35.5%. The Man of the Match Award went to Tzolis with a 8.23 rating after an imperious attacking display down the left. What next? Arsenal go to Villa Park to face Aston Villa next week. while Coventry face Plymouth in the Carabao Cup before returning to Premier League action against Hull on Saturday
